An Adaptive Observer-Based Controller Design for Active Damping of a DC Network With a Constant Power Load

This article explores a nonlinear, adaptive controller aimed at increasing the stability margin of direct-current (dc), small-scale, electrical network containing an unknown constant power load (CPL). Due to its negative incremental impedance, this reduces effective damping network, which may lead voltage oscillations and even collapse. To overcome drawback, we consider incorporation controlled dc–dc converter in parallel with CPL. The design control law for is particularly challenging due existence unmeasured states parameters. We propose standard input–output linearization stage, suitably tailored observer added. good performance validated through experiments on small-scale network.
